Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineers should have knowledge of heat transfer, fluid flow,
thermodynamics, water technology, mass transfer and reaction kinetics.
Chemical engineers focus on energy production, power plant chemistry
and process development for equipment design.
Civil Engineering

Civil engineers perform design and analysis of steel and concrete structures
often using finite element tools. Seismic and dynamic qualification
of equipment and components, evaluation of suspended systems (piping,
cable tray, electrical raceway, etc) and development of design packages
for nuclear plant modifications are common assignments.
Computer Science/Computer Engineering: Software engineers are responsible
for software design, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Knowledge of the following development environments is preferred: Visual
C++, Visual C++.Net, PLC Programming, VHDL, Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET,
Python, C, Java, ASP, ASP.NET, SQL, C#, and .NET.
Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineers design specialty products that include nondestructive
testing technology, instrumentation and control systems, digital and
analog control components, and robotic kinematics. They are also instrumental
in designing simulation software programs.
Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering

By developing methods and processes to meet new product requirements,
manufacturing and industrial engineers minimize costs and improve quality
while planning and controlling the flow of work to meet schedules.
Materials and Metallurgical Engineering

Materials engineers examine service-related problems encountered in
maintaining the safe operating condition of pressurized water reactors
and apply the principles of metallurgical engineering to provide solutions.
Expertise in corrosion science and fracture mechanics is desirable.
Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics

Mechanical engineers design and analyze complex vessels and equipment
to meet rigorous design specifications and industry safety codes. Projects
involving fluid systems, heat transfer, fluid flow, thermodynamics,
and stress analysis are overseen by mechanical engineers.
Nuclear Engineering

Nuclear engineers participate in nuclear reactor core design and analysis,
thermal-hydraulic analysis, safety analysis, and probabilistic risk
assessment. They also develop fuel management plans with the objective
of maximizing energy production while ensuring core output is within
safe power-peaking limits.
Welding Engineering

Welding engineers develop sophisticated welding processes for component
repair. They also prepare complex manufacturing procedures in conformance
with industry specifications. They interface with designers, tooling
engineers, and field implementation teams during component replacements
and repairs.
