What is it like living in Lynchburg?
I find Lynchburg interesting because of its convenience relative to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway. I love going into the mountains and hiking or riding motorcycles. I also enjoy the live blue grass music that can be heard here.

What drew you to AREVA NP Inc.?
I was drawn to AREVA NP Inc. by the opportunity to work on an entire project. I get to do the design, drafting and application of projects. A lot of other companies do not allow you to take part in the whole project; here at AREVA NP Inc. I can do that.

What does AREVA NP Inc. offer that other companies cannot?
The benefits here are unbelievable. AREVA NP Inc. offers new-hires 12 days of paid vacation and one week off at Christmas.

What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge was getting started and learning the routine that my job requires.

What does your future at AREVA NP Inc. hold? What are your aspirations?
Eventually, I would like to move into a position of leadership within the company, but I know that this will take time, patience and hard work.

What was your biggest surprise at AREVA NP Inc.?
All of the young new professionals. I could not believe how many young people were recently hired. It is nice to have people my age to hang out with.

What are the dynamics of your group?
The group that I work in is great. I have made many friends in the group and they are all very willing to help me as I become adjusted to my role in the company. My boss was very nice to let me leave work in order to get things taken care of as I got settled into Lynchburg.

Why would you recommend AREVA NP Inc. to others as a place of employment?
AREVA NP Inc. is a growing company. There are going to be many opportunities to advance in the company. Additionally, the nuclear industry as a whole is a very stable industry that has nowhere to go but up. AREVA NP Inc. is the front runner of this growing industry. If you are going to work in the nuclear industry, why not work with the best?

What kinds of team building events are offered?
The brown bag lunches that are put on about once a week are very helpful and informative. They really help you understand what is going on in the company. Plus it is a great time to get together with people your age from the company.
