What
is it like living in Charlotte?
Charlotte is a growing city full of
young professionals. The downtown is architecturally fascinating
and very clean. The suburbs also have their own unique flavor. As
for activities, there is always a lot going on. My typical weeknight
consists of poker, flag football league games, volunteer work with
local organizations, traveling to the mountains or the beach, or
just lounging around. The nightlife on Thursday through Saturday
is pretty incredible as well. There are always concerts going on
either downtown or at the Verizon Amphitheater, gallery crawls,
wine tasting, and so on. There is usually a restaurant/bar/club
grand opening once a month. And there are lots of races (car, running
and biking included) in addition to other sporting events, not to
mention the Carolina Panthers' games. My favorite thing about Charlotte
is the sports leagues. You can play anything from kickball to volleyball,
and meet others who also like playing sports. Usually you play a
game, and then go out to eat or get a drink with your teammates.
It's great! |

What
drew you to AREVA NP Inc.?
AREVA NP Inc. offered a great venue for growth
and opportunity. Additionally, they offer recent graduates excellent
opportunities with top-quality offers. |
| |
|
| |
What
does a typical day consist of?
I work on a number of different projects that
often require me to interface with a client's computer network and
gather data we need to work on the client's plant equipment or systems.
I also interface with various vendors to provide solutions that
will support the engineering we do to a plant. There is a lot involved
in each plant modification because each component/system change
impacts multiple plant organizations. Because of this, I'm learning
that there a lot of things to consider that are pertinent to my
job, not just the immediate problem. |

What
does AREVA NP Inc. offer that other companies cannot?
AREVA NP Inc. offers an international perspective
with offices all over the world.

In the immediate future I intend to continue
learning about this industry. Down the road, I see myself being

|
| |
What
is the greatest opportunity you've been given as
an AREVA NP Inc. employee?
The greatest opportunity I've had is to be
a part of such an enthusiastic, talented team. I get to learn from
people who have been in the industry for at least a decade. |

|
| |
What
are the dynamics of your group?
The Electrical Systems group is really great.
Most of the people I work with want me to understand what I'm doing
and continually ask me if I'm learning or if I'm just doing what
I need to do. That is great because it makes me want to ask more
questions and get a true, in-depth understanding of what is going
on. |
| |
|
| |
Why
would you recommend AREVA NP Inc. to others
as a place of employment?
AREVA NP Inc. offers great opportunities.
This job and the people I work with are a blessing. The job has
given me the chance to learn, and I have demonstrated my ability
to use my acquired talents and skills to succeed in a professional
environment. |
