What drew you to AREVA NP Inc.?
I was drawn to AREVA NP Inc. because of the starting salary they offered, as well as the cost of living in the area, the fun and challenging work atmosphere, and the location.

What does a typical day consist of?
I typically work from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. After work I go to the gym (of which there are many in the Lynchburg area) and relax with family and friends. Lynchburg offers a very laid back environment.

What has been your biggest challenge?
I am a Mechanical undergrad working in the Materials & Structural Analysis Unit (M&SAU). I have had numerous learning curves to overcome; however, the constant need to learn keeps my job very interesting. Also, being in the nuclear world offers many challenges because of each client's variations (including Quality Assurance programs and plant variations).

What does your future at AREVA NP Inc. hold? What are your aspirations?
I hope to become engaged in enough training to allow for a change in position in two years. There is a lot of flexibility in terms of moving around in the company, and most of the moves are upwards.

What was your biggest surprise at AREVA NP Inc.?
I was especially surprised at the number of new employees being hired. One of the advantages that AREVA NP Inc. offers is a huge margin for growth, considering the number of recent retirees.

What is the greatest opportunity you've been given as
an AREVA NP Inc. employee?
I have had the opportunity to assist in college recruiting, and have participated in many innovative design projects for my group.

What are the dynamics of your group?
My group offers a laid back atmosphere because of the easy going people AREVA NP Inc. employs. My co-workers are easy to talk to with about work/non-work related problems and questions.

It offers an outstanding environment not only to grow in my profession but also to grow personally. The site travel is an outstanding way to learn about our industry, and doing unique project work ensures I will never encounter the exact same project twice.
